Kendo

Kendo is a Japanese art, the name translates to "Way of the Sword". It can be considered a form of fencing.

It is a decendent of Kenjitsu, modernized into sport format. Legal targets are the head ("men"), body ("do"), wrist ("kote") and throat ("tsuki").

Kendo practitoners train using bambo swords called Shinai for sparring and most drills, and Hardwood swords called Bokken for kata. The uniform is a Hakama and Gi Jacket, and armor, called Bogu. The armor consists of a mask (men), breastplate (do), gloves (kote) and waistband (tare)
