This article is a Stub and needs to be expanded.Ninjutsu is said to have begun some 800 years ago during Japan's feudal age. Practitioners of Ninjutsu, Ninja, specialized in unconventional warfare tactics involving stealth, espionage, and misdirection. Most ninjutsu systems, or ryu, had their origins in the mountain regions of Iga and Koga.
During the 1970's, Stephen K. Hayes and Doron Navon, upon discovering in Japan a Ninjutsu headmaster with lineage dating back many centuries, brought the art to the western world.
